Wrapping pipes / muffler
Anyone ever wrapped their pipes and muffler to help keep the heat out of the engine compartment ? Got some pipe wrap good to 2000F and wrapped everything up tight. Is there any concern to this ?? Was it a good idea ??

Re: Wrapping pipes / muffler
Yes, the header on my v-twin is wrapped. Makes a huge difference in under seat temps.

Re: Wrapping pipes / muffler
My header is also wrapped. Just beware the first time or two you run/heat that wrap because it will smoke and smell. It will eventually stop.
