What would you do to this motor?
The intake valves were mushroomed for a year until it stopped running completely. It didn't have much power and every time it ran it had less and less power until it just stopped starting. It has no compression but the valves were as bad as they could be. The black soot wiped off super easy. I had intentions of just throwing 2 new valves in it and run it. Cylinder walls are clean. 1998 ezgo. I actually think it stopped running because the supply house fell into the gas tank. As far as I can tell everything is good on motor. My plan was to replace intake valves and clean it up and put it back together. Friend thinks it has burn d oil so I need to rebuild it

For the time it takes i would be inclined to just do the valves and then run it and see what else shows up. If you are worried about rings, then a full strip down is needed. if you decide to just do the valves, then find you need new rings, it will add the cost of rings and another set of gaskets/oil seals and usually just a hone rather than a rebore.

To Add to the above Barbersham, i am not condoning just replacing the valves! i merely suggest replacing valves as a way to confirm any other issues and to make sure it is only the valves causing the non running situation. replacing the valves should also include seals and gaskets. Then it is time for a full strip down and rebuild.
I have just looked at you previous posts and i realise you stated you do not have much money for toys, so i am assuming you are looking at going down the cheapest route possible rather than doing a solid job. On this assuption, my suggestion would be to save money long term by doing a full rebuild from the start, to include all new seals and gaskets etc. Otherwise you will be paying out twice or more for gaskets and seals. this includes valve stem seals as well as all the other engine seals. If you really just want to just throw a couple of intake valves in, then run the cart, that is entirely up to you. But you will be back for more advice sooner than you think. least expensive scenario here would be to clean up what you have, install new valves and seals, inspect / repair / replace rings, rods, bearings as required and replace all gaskets and cam seals etc, but you will probably find other issues once rebuilt. Also make sure that you have a full air filter system fitted and working correctly or you will be doing the valves again also sooner than you think. These are the best golf buggy engines ever produced, but like all others, they need looking after. PROPERLY REBUILT AND CARED FOR THEY CAN LAST YOU A LIFETIME. I hope i have made sense. Regards.
