Question Motor swap time

So my cart is tired... smokes and won’t pull 3 adults up a hill.

It’s a 99’ Ezgo TXT with the 295 Subaru

So Are the only options I have for motor upgrades the Cartpartplus vanguard and the Vegas carts big block upgrade?

I was reading into fuel injection motor swap but it looks like that is a pain.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Get 15% off at Vegascarts now until the 26 th . Sure makes the swap cheaper. !5% off a full engine swap kit is a fair amount of money.

It depends on what your needs are for the cart!

The big block swaps will give you much more power. But they also make a lot of noise! sounds like a garden tractor running wide open.
It is as I am sure you have seen, NOT the cheaper way out.

The 295 engine is 9HP. You could replace with a 350 that is 11HP.

I rebuilt my 295 (stock) and it will pull 4 adult's, 2 kids and a large cooler up some pretty long hills here in north Ga. I will say its not going very fast at the top. Its also on 22'' tires.

If you spend some decent money on an exhaust system they are nearly as quiet as a stocker. Nothing like my lawn tractor running wide open.

Ok, maybe true.
The ones I have seen just turned me away from them because of the noise.

OH, I just noticed your running DRAG PIPES on your Sporty, LOL Noise may be a relative thing here, LOL

Not the best pic to draw any conclusions from. They are one piece chambered pipes custom built for another person's 1979 ironhead chopper. For whatever reason they didn't fit. Luckily they fit my 1980 engined bike perfectly.

There are videos of guys replacing used up stock exhaust systems on stock engined carts with car mufflers. The results are like clone engines with car mufflers. Car mufflers don't work very well on single cylinder engines. Alas most clone engine swappers use cheap car mufflers on their carts and then complain about how loud they are. I have replaced both yamaha and club cars cart exhaust systems here on the island and both were $200 + but the owners tried half fast other ideas until in both cases their wives demanded they get the cart like it was before.

Hey, don't loud pipes save lives? Definitely a safety issue!

I had drag pipes, drag pipes with baffles, and drag pipes with shorties. I didn't want to hasten my going deaf. The pipes are now perfect. Nice low harley thump without the rasp of the drag pipe combos.
