78 EZGO gas cart Solenoid
I got a new solenoid for my 1978 EZGO gas cart. The only one is a 3 prong set and the new one is 4 prong. The 3 prong had battery and starter to large terminal, F/R to large terminal and regulator to the small terminal. Not sure what, if anything I should be hooking up to the extra small terminal on the new one or if I should just be grounding that one to the chassie.

Re: 78 EZGO gas cart Solenoid
The 4 prong solenoid requires power, and a ground on the 2 small terminals to operate. It's nothing more than an electromagnet that closes the switch for the 2 big lugs to pass power.
