Ezgo marathon windshield mod
I picked this up a few weeks ago. Rebuilt top end, repainted it, build over head radio, added headlights and underglow because why not. Now that it runs I have been driving it around my property to build confidence enough to take it to the course. While driving around I realized how nice a folding windshield is for a number of reasons. My two biggest concerns are fresh air and a breeze when it's hot.
I have searched and have not found anything about converting a solid windshield into a folding windshield. I have a hard time justifying $100+ on a new one because mine works and I am only into my cart about $700 total. I feel like it's possible to convert it and understand it won't be exactly like a traditional folding one but that's ok. Anyone ever try this and have words of advice or links to parts? My other option is to use a hole saw and drill some holes to promote air flow at the bottom of the windshield. Thanks for the help! |

Nice buggy, Search 'Golfcart windshield repair kit' and you'll find what you're looking for

Re: Ezgo marathon windshield mod
You could rip it in half with a fin(er) tooth table saw blade. Then use flex tape to put it back together where you cut. That's basically what the folding windshield is, minus the flex tape (I don't know what they use but the flex tape is some pretty strong stuff and should hold up to the folding up/down pretty well)
My junker has a folding windshield. I accidentally broke it pulling it off to try and save it from a hail storm, so there' a little crack in the corner now but I used some PVC cement to glue it back together. Can still see the crack but it's not broken anymore. I can take a couple pictures later if it helps |

Re: Ezgo marathon windshield mod
thanks for the info. cutting it in half and adding a hinge seems pretty easy.
I will need to figure out a way to hold it up at the top. the traditional rubber pieces won't work because my windshield sits on the inside of the frame and not in front of the frame like most do. Might just have to "wing it" and post pictures of the final product for the next guy to learn from. |

You could drill holes and use some christmas tree clips. As long as the holes are tight, they should hold it up fine.

Re: Ezgo marathon windshield mod
I have actually bolted some small metal hinges to windshields several times. I usually do it when the hinge breaks but you could do it with a one piece windshield as well.

Re: Ezgo marathon windshield mod
This is what I would do, ya get the glue and hinge. You must order the hinge for either 3/16" or 1/4" material
