Default G29 run bad when hot

Hi,

I have a 2008 G29 Drive. I runs great when I first start driving. After it is hot it begins to run poorly. When I let off the throttle and then try to get on it again it struggles to fire and occasionally backfires. I tried 2 carbs and it does the same thing. Any advice?

Whenever a small engine starts missing when hot my first thought is the ignition coil though I'm used to them just turning off like you turned the key and not firing until it cools.

Dug into it yesterday. Pulled the plug when it was hot it still had spark but is was carbon fouled. Im guessing running rich. But how would you adjust the carb since there are no adjustments.

Also I want to check the compression, anyone know what it should be?

I will also look at the choke.

Clean the carb. Put a different t float on the is closer to the measurement level. Plug is full of black carbon after a 1/4 mile. Getting some serious carbon fouling. Help.

Did you replace the needle valve on the float? I see them go bad often, the float itself almost never.

Figured it out. User error. The air filter was installed wrong. I know, what the heck are you talking about?

The foam for the air filter was on top of the filter blocking the channel that delivers air to the carb. I put the foam under the filter where it belongs and it runs now. I do get a backfire when I let off the gas with both carbs. Got to figure that out know.
