Yamaha G22a Stuck in reverse. Cables ok
transmission seems to be stuck in reverse. Was run low of fluid. Dropped the diff cover. Very little amount of shavings found, and gears look ok. Cables are adjusted. What else could it be ?

Im currently having the same issue. I was given this cart that would not go into reverse, checked the cables and seem to be adjusted correctly. Opened up the transaxle to find no fluid. Cleaned out the metal filings and resealed the case. I read somewhere that if u drive it in reverse and shift it into drive that it will free up the syncro in the trans axle and will them be able to apply forward again. Any truth to this before i go blowing up my transaxle?

no syncro on that diff. Very simple design. Open it up, problem should be obvious
