Question Battery Charging??

2 Q's:

I have a 36V EZ Go Marathon that came with a nonstandard 36V charger. I can set the charger for “high”, “Medium”, or “low” and a timer with the number of hours of charge.

1) What setting would be best setting– high, med. or low?
2) While charging the charging meter starts high and over time will go down with charge, but never gets below 12 amps, no matter how long I let it continue to charge. My Trojan batteries are 4 years old. Does this mean my batteries are going bad or is this normal? They hold a pretty good charge.

If the charger has an auto shut off and it continues to run then yes, you could have a bad battery or 2.... Sounds like that charger is kinda hard on your batteries. A golf cart charger may be a wise investment

Get yourself a automatic golf cart charger. You could be over-charging your batteries and ruining them. Here is a link to a great automatic charger for a very resonable price. I have one of these and it works great. It can charge 36 or 48 volt systems. There is a voltage selector on the front.
