Best gauge

I was wondering which state of charge gauge is the better way to go. The round analog or the LED. Thanks in advance.

Get the LED unit. If you get the Analog you will never figure out how to read it properly.

I have used both types and if you dont mind a whole series of flashing lights every time you hit throttle either way go with the LED unit? I use analog guages and take the time to mark each segment on the face of the cheaper units with my digital meter so I have a much better idea what I am looking at. Any guage will cycle back and forth when throttle is applied and removed. I did start going with a quality analog like Curtis etc rather than the cheap anaolg normally sold through cart mail order places. In most cases you still have to zero them but then they stay for a very long time and in most cases are easy to set.

I have never seen a LED unit behave this way.

If it was bouncing all around I would think it was wired hot all the time with out a switch.

I admit that the LED units that I saw and installed were the older models a few years back so maybe they have found a way to dampen the flux back and forth? Also what I saw and used were foreign made ( China ) but of course what ISNT now? There is a 2009 Club Car in park that came new from dealer with a LED unit that looked like a rainbow when he goes by at night because they have to stop and then take off. I havent personally ask if it was installed by dealer or what. So maybe I jumped to a conclusion too soon?
I still feel that a ( quality anolog ) ZERO calibrated periodically is the best bet in my opinion for whatever thats worth?

I have the Curtis LED SOC meter. It is pretty accurate and has caused no fluctuation problems. I agree with gornoman, the round analog gauge can be a little confusing to some.
