slow uphill

Hi I have a 01 club car that performs well except on inclines. Someone told me that there is a chip in the obc that can be upgraded to correct the problem does any know if that is possible or any other fix will changing the motor / computer make any difference? thanks for any info

Your neighbor is partially correct. The IQ carts have a programmable controller. Post your serial # and we can see if you have an IQ cart.

hbuck, a quick fix for this that is reasonably priced is to just change the motor out for a plumquick motor. Send them your old motor for a core and put one of their purple power motors in. $225 with core plus shipping. You will get about 30% more speed and torque. I did this with my 03 and couldn't be happier didn't have to do any other upgrades.

Disconnect Neg battery lead to be safe.

4 wires require 2 wrenches to keep from stripping the motor wires (keep labeled A1, S1 ...etc) .

4 Bolts mount motor to frame , Then TAP with a RUBBER hammer .

then tell the wife to pull like he11

Not hard at all huck just pull the access panel off the back. There are four bolts around the collar on the motor remove them and slide motor off and lift out put new motor in, in reverse order takes maybe 20 minutes. To make it easier to pull the motor I just took a motorcycle tie down strap and wrapped it around the motor so I had something to hang onto while pulling it up and out the Plumquick motor has a handle on it so it is real easy to install. All you need is a 7/16 wrench for 3 bolts, and a 1/2 wrench for on bolt. I think those are the sizes and maybe a screwdriver to help get the motor started to slide off. Hope this helps.

What Gleemo said first though, I just got home not thinking straight been a long day, always disconnect the neg lead before starting and of course remove the wires from the motor that would help lol.
