Want more speed for 2012 Express S4
New to the forum. I have a 2012 Ezgo Express, all stock. 13.5 hp Kawasaki engine. I would like to speed it up. I have adjusted the governor somewhat, but don't want to open it up too much out of fear of damaging the motor. I know larger tires will help a little too. I am considering high speed gears ( Probably 6:1 or 8:1 ratio) but I am concerned about loosing torque, and climbing power. My goal is to be in the low 30s on mph. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have a 2012 also. I have the governor almost wide open. It will run right at 30mph. I talked to the shop I bought it from and they had no problem with me doing it.

Thank you Margarita Mojo. Just for clarification and to make sure I'm understanding you correctly, are you talking about opening up the throttle linkage, or is there an other govoner?

I have a 2012 TXT with the 13.5HP kawasaki. Is the drivetain the same on my cart as your Express? I keep hearing about rear governor gears exploding if I tamper with the governor. I too would like to increase my top speed.
