convert 2 cycle to 4 cycle
Has anyone converted a two stroke ezgo into a four stroke? I've seen a couple of marathone two cycles for sale cheap and wonder if it would be a simple engine swap or would you need a different rear end.

Re: convert 2 cycle to 4 cycle
Depending on the design, a two cycle can be run in reverse so thats how they do reverse. So you would have to get a bit more fancy to keep reverse.

You will need a 2 speed rear end...

Find a 4-stroke Marathon axle,Its a bolt-in,and has Forward/Reverse.

90'-94' Marathon will work,the Medalist/TXT could be modified,its' not a bolt-in.

JMO I think it would be cheaper to buy a 4 stroke cart than it would be to convert a 2 stroke to a 4.

Re: convert 2 cycle to 4 cycle
It all depends on the game-plan.If you are going to run a clone,vannie,etc..Swapping the rear makes more sense, since that is all you need for the swap from a stock cart.If you want to swap in a stock drivetrain(motor,rear-axle,exhaust,etc...),then a cart-swap may be a better option, again depending on prices, availiable funds, and level of ability to do it.

Re: convert 2 cycle to 4 cycle
I went to get a 4-stroke rearend for my 89, and came home with this 93. $350. Basically the price of the rearend. I sold the 89, and used the money to build my big-block cart.
