Default Alltrax sr48500 wiring - 2 diff diagrams

I have 2 different diagrams that came with my alltrax. One in the owners manual, showing “1994 and newer ezgo” and one separate sheet that says “axe to ezgo 94-2000”

I have a series txt early 2001.

The alltrax manual shows A2 to M- but the other sheet shows A1 to M-

The owners manual shows the controller as it looks, the separate sheet just shows a box for the controller.

I’m converting to 48v and keeping my motor. My cart when 36v had A2 going to the FNR top position (as the separate sheet shows - not like the alltrax manual) and A1 went to the controller to M-

So- do I just wire it all as it was stock? Or does the wiring change and things need moved around moving to the alltrax controller?

Did you get it from Scotty? I found his diagram was easier to follow than the manual.
I don’t remember what exactly the issue was (probably the same question you have, since I also have an 01 series) but just trust the diagram.

I got this from evdrives. Both diagrams are branded Alltrax.

In my Alltrax manual, the diagram marked 1994 and newer ezgo has A1 to m-. The diagram labeled generic series has A2 to m-. I’d just use the 1994 and newer. Stick with that one, don’t mix the two, and you’ll be fine.

Don't panic - there is more than one way to wire a series motor. Either way works. Simply follow one diagram or the other... do not blend the 2. I hope this helps

Revision-A of the drawing shows M- to A1
Revision-C of the drawing shows M- to A2.

Rev-C is in the Alltrax SR manual that is available for download.

Going to A2 rather than A1 changes the direction the amps flow through the armature and brushes, but I have no idea why Alltrax would want to change the direction of current flow from the way EZGO has been doing it for the last 25+ years.

Maybe Alltrax can shed some light.....

So far, I'm sticking with the earlier revision, which is how my cart was wired. However, I've noticed that my card's diode was in backwards which I found strange, as its supposed to be directional.

If it was installed backwards it is now burned up and useless. This can be verified with a multimeter.

I'll have to check that tonight. Cart ran (batts were end of life however).

I originally wired my new setup the same way, but noticed it seemed backwards, and then corrected. Here's the setup so far BEFORE I changed the direction of the diode. So, this should be incorrect, right?
