Re: 48v conversion - no solenoid click
Ok. So it’s def the summit. I disconnected the blue wire from the ms2 and connected ms2 directly to batt +. Key on and pedal pushed slightly. Click and lights on controller.
So, why is my summit only providing 33v? |

Re: 48v conversion - no solenoid click
Glad you got it figured out, does the cart run? No idea on the Summit wiring, I just run the charger cable thru the steering wheel to prevent driving away with it plugged in.

With a charger connected the blue wire to MS-2 ought to be 0V and when no charger is connected it ought to be full battery pack voltage. The voltage on the blue wire is a function of the cart's charger receptacle rather than the charger. (The charger being connected triggers tells the charger receptacle what to do, but the actual source for the voltage, or lack of voltage, on the blue wire is the cart's battery pack via the charging cable connected to the pack's main positive terminal.) By connecting the blue wire to B+, the cart can be driven away with charger attached, so loop the charger's cable through the steering wheel as a reminded. |

Re: 48v conversion - no solenoid click
This is onboard, so it's always connected. I contacted Lester - and 33v is proper for the blue line, as its a digital signal for lockout, and that it would have to be wired up to trigger a relay to supply the 48v to my FNR. (I was under the impression the wire itself was providing the lockout intelligence and voltage). So, I'm just going to hook the FNR up directly to the Batt Pos and loop the extention cord through the steering wheel as suggested. (also remove key).

Re: 48v conversion - no solenoid click
Thought it was a stand alone charger rather than on-board. |
