Many, if not most, battery manufacturers have several grades of golf cart batteries for each voltage. For example Trojan had seven 6V offerings, five 8V and three 12V, while US Battery has five 6V, four 8V and two 12V, and Crown has five 6V, three 8V and two 12V. With just those three companies alone, there are 17 choices of 6V FLA type cart batteries batteries and the number of possible comparisons is in the thousands.
In general terms, there is less difference between the same grade batteries from different manufacturers than there is between different grade batteries from the same manufacturer. As for the best bang for the buck, it is typically the highest AH batteries you can afford, bought locally for the least total cost. If the prices of two batteries with different AH ratings are relatively close, the higher AH is typically the better buy. |
