Default battery charging question

I had stored the cart (’07 precedent, 4x12volt) about 3 months ago & someone unplugged the charger thinking it wasn’t supposed to be running. Well now I plug it in & the charger will not come on, I assume because the batteries are too low….
Can I charge each individual battery off of a car charger to get the levels back up?
Can I leave the batteries connected?
What suggestions do y’all have? (Other than smacking the guy upside the head for unplugging it)

Thanks,
Luke

Yes you can charge them with a car charger, and no you do not have to unhook anything, check your water levels, use distilled water for the batteries

it's a stand up style jet ski; more specifically a Yamaha super jet.

It is my main "hobby" that takes up most of my time & garage.
