Default Lestronic 2 charger not quite working.

I have a Lestronic 2 36v charger that doesn't seem to be charging the batteries all the way. When I plug it in the meter shows about 3 amps, thats after using the cart for a few hours.

The batteries are 18 months old.

I checked the voltage at the plug while charging and it was 36.8v, I did some searching on here which lead me to check the fuse and diode.

The fuse checks good but I'm not sure on how to check for a bad diode.

Thanks.

Go to www.lesterelectrical.com and you can download their trouble shooting guide. Sounds like the capacitor is shot.

Thanks, you were right, the cap is shot.

Another question, I've found a bunch of 6uf 660vac caps but not the same size shape as the one I have.

Will any 6uf capacitor work, are they all the same regardless of size and shape?
