I typically try and stick with OEM parts but in this case I was in a hurry to test a new solenoid and thats all I could find locally in a pinch. I don't mind buying a White Rodgers solenoid again once the cart is back up and running if necessary. |

Unfortunately there are differences in even "continuous duty" solenoids. Most Cart specific ones will have silver or brass contacts inside - for the best possible transmission of power. The continuous duty most auto parts stores sell are for a winch, snow plow, or something similar. They will run moderate amperage for longer than the automotive starter solenoids (say 45-90 seconds at a time) but still not the same kind of "continuous" (often more than 30 minutes at a time) that a cart can put it through. There is a quality difference in the materials used inside.
