Yeah I don't see it in the passenger side. Thank you all for the wealth of information.

Re: Hello, and what's my new investment?
So I think I disconnected the governor. It's one of the throttle style cables right? We paced it today and only getting 16mph. I'm kinda curious if part of it could still be some of the bad gas that was left in the tank. I did the wrong thing and while it had a gallon or more left in it I went and topped it off. I changed the plug as well. The one I pulled had a real long three compared to the ngk that the manual from here called for. Air filter in opened up the box to see if that helped some no change.

Re: Hello, and what's my new investment?
Looking at the engine pic in your first post there are three cables mounted on a bracket to the carb throttle lever, The upper one is for the oil injection pump. The middle one is the throttle cable from the peddle, The lower one is the governor....
The spark plug for my 85 is an 'NGK BP5HS', I read somewhere for higher elevation an 'NGK BP4HS' should be used. Although I'm at 6000 ft the '5' version works fine...IF I remember correctly the gap should be .028-.035, Check the manual to be sure BTW; On NGK plugs the higher the number the cooler the plug. So a '4' is hotter then a '5'............ Yep, Could be a mistake using the old gas. I would siphon it out and start over, And install a new fuel filter too........... Also, 16mph really isn't so bad. I'd bet the fiberglass body of the Westerns are heavier then the normal Ezgo body |
