Here is how EZGO does it. Note that there is always power to the fuse block.

Superman, the factory ignition switch for an EZ will give you a set of contacts that close when the switch is in position 1, when you continue to turn to position 2, sw 1 stays closed and closes a second isolated set. In your case, you may want your acc stuff on the first position and the main for the cart on 2. This way you can run what you wish and the cart wont move.

My 2 cents

kgsc I never thought of wiring it backwards but that is a novel idea to the situation.
P.S. With so many options, You have got superman's head spinning about now

To be honest, neither had I but it seemed like a good idea. Kinda like a car with an acc position. Would let you run the radio and what not without fear of stomping on the gas and running over someone

I like that backward plan as well. Stereo on and the cart wont move when Im doing 16oz curls at the camp site.

Have also considered using a 12vt relay with a couple of 12vt zener diodes of a 36vt switch. If I understand the zener technology, I think two 12vt zeners in series will step the 36 down to 12 to run the relay. They won't handle many watts but a relay doesn't pull but milliamps.. Anyone ?

WOW, I leave to eat dinner with the wife and I have a thousand options! Well, maybe a little less than that. And yes Scotty, I’m really turned around now.

Let me clarify a little more what I’m looking for. First, I have an extra 12V battery to run all my accessories. Next, I do not want to be able to run any of them without my ignition in the “on” position. This will keep from accidently leaving my lights on when I turn my cart off and leave it. Also, if one of my switches gets bumped on by my cat in the garage, it won’t turn my lights on.

I would like to somehow tie the key switch into my 12V power supply to my goodies. Will the 3 position key switch do this? And please don’t skin my cat!
