Re: I want to go wild! 36V to 48V? What does she need?
Much R&D was done trial and error on my own carts, still do it that way today.
I get an idea an I start modifying one of my carts. Sometimes it's good & sometimes it's a bad idea We spent several years in the golf cart service & repair business where we were able to practice what learned. Other bits of valuable cart knowledge can be had just by reading forums or blogs like this one. |

You already have your cart lifted with new rims and tires, which you would more than likely have to purchase again for the new cart and would have to be figured into the cost of fixing yours V/S buying a new one. P.M. or E-Mail ScottyB and he can give you an exact quote of what you're looking at for parts. -Scott H. |

Is there a way to use my cart with the 8v batteries? Can I just take one out? How?

Re: I want to go wild! 36V to 48V? What does she need?
I really don't like people that attempt to work on carts and really screw things up and then charge for it... One of our local "dealers" took a cart in from someone I know and told him his problem was batteries and sold him 6 6 volts for his 48 volt club car. Hooked it all up and still didn't work.(duh) He told them to stop and they still charged him like $150. He found out I mess with them and brought it by. One look and "Dude, you got screwed" He bought 6 8 volts and all was well except he found out his charger was dead which is probably what started this chain..
Anyway, I went to this same dealer the other day because I needed batteries and couldn't wait. The guy I was helping needed it the next day. I called them and said I needed 4 12 volt. "We have them I was told." Went down there, said I needed that batteries I called about. 10 minutes later she comes back with some poor guy pushing a hand truck with 4 8 volts on it.. I told her those were 8s and she said she was told they were 12s. Poor guy rolled his eyes and asked me to come with him and he would show me what they had.. He was the GM. I finally ended up with 4 t1275s they told me they didn't have for $80 cheaper than they originally quoted me.. Sad thing was there were two people picking up carts while I was waiting and was not impressed with the work.. One had head light issues and they rigged it rather than fixing it right. If I get laid off, I know what biz I will start.. Sorry for the rant Now back to Mae |

They call me and I can tell they shouldn't be working on somebody else's cart I call em fishing expeditions, fishing for help. But they are charging somebody.... it's not nice.
Anyway ask around, before you take your cart into a shop get some references. |

I agree 100%.. These people are just bad... The sad thing is they are really the only game in town so people go there.. If I was closer to retirement and I didn't have to worry about my daughter's education, I would be all over it.
