Right now I have a 17903 Walker on it but not sure after reading this thread if the 22229 would be quieter. Thoughts?

Leave the pipe to the engine, a slip fit, with heavy springs.

On my 89 Carryall 1 I used a yamaha gc muffler with the heat shield cut off. I welded an exhaust flange from VC onto the VC header pipe and had to cut and re-weld the pipe and flange on the muffler to match the proper angle. Then i used the original Carryall aluminum c clamp that held the OEM muffler. I did have to widen it some to fit the yamaha muffler, but it works great, its quiet and still fast plus stainless steel so it wont rot out.

Were I work, we have a small fleet of old cushman work buggies. We use the stainless flex, but in 6" for the exhaust systems. They work.

I seen on both another site and Red Beard's garage where they used $40 sport bike muffler off E Bay. It seemed to be pretty quiet on both cases.

Bump for great info. For those using black plumbing pipe, what are you using to seal the joints? Permatex high-temp thread sealant says up to 400 degrees, is that adequate? I'm getting some leakage through the threads, no matter how hard I crank them down.
