Default Differences Between 2ga VS. 4ga. Cables

Looking for an honest assessment of using 2ga. cables vs. 4ga. on my 2000 48V Carryall. I just bought a new set of batteries which I'll be installing this weekend. The old 4ga cables are tired & dirty so I'm getting new ones. Is this the time to switch to 2 ga cables though? I would think they'd impede the movement of the F/R switch. Is that a valid concern? Thanks for any input!

Have you read this thread?

Measure volts under load and see if your current setup limits volts to the motor.

Load carries better, less resistance, less heat build up . . .

Your cart normally uses 6ga so the 4ga is already an improvement. Unless you are running higher than 500 amps 4ga is enough.

I added these to mine http://www.ebay.com/itm/4ga-CLUB-CAR...-/320431981173

Great quality. Don't forget the dielectric grease to prevent/slow down the corrosion

I checked that auction but it doesn't look like he provides the cables for the F/R switch and the cables to the controller. Are those cables really needed or just the ones that go from the battery pack?
