I'm sure Scotty has a great meter, but not everyone wants one that costs quite that much. It seems all to easy on here, but most all here are cart fanatics and willing to spend a little coin to get what they want......however in practice in a shop, people tend to be real cheap @$$E$ and when you tell them the stock replacement bar meter is as much is at is they say just disconnect it. Having a cheaper option is a must when you deal with the general public and want to keep them coming back. So being able to put an inexpensive meter in 5 times for the cost of one nice one is the option "most" people choose.

As for always on, while the draw is minimal (and negligible in my opinion) the night time display is more of an eye catching part to "curious" folks. I installed a green one in one cart and you can see that meter in the dark from 200 yards or more away. Wiring it into the ignition is simple and desired by most customers. I've had several of the cheapo's wired up straight for over a year without fail, but knowing that it could lead to a burnout I just install them to the ignition. No biggie though.

Mine is from Scotty and it is switched as was the bar one. And it reads exactly what my Fluke multi meter reads.

I just installed a "LED Battery Meter" ... on a 2007 DS..48v ... It's wired direct + & - from the battery (48v) and a spliced in wire on the Green wire of the Master On/Off switch. There also is a blue wire which I think is input to the switch...
However I do not like the meter to be indicating all the time so I guess I could put a SPST switch in on of the lines...But where do I get a switch that will handle 48V DC...???

Thanks

Bill

OK ..on the switch ...

But which line should I install ,it in ...+ or - 48v or the blue (in) Geen out of the on and off switch.

Thanks for the recommendation, what your saying any spst switch rated at 125VAC ..10 amps or better will work just fine??

-Thanks
