Re: Battery light
This usually indicates batteries are dropping under 48 volts under load...so my best guess is your batteries are sitting right at 48 volts, then when brake lights come on it puts them just under the 48 volt mark and causes light to come on.

Re: Battery light
Take the factory battery light out. Order one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/171366934358...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Enlarge the hole so that the new one fits. Behind the dash you can use the black wire (might have a white stripe) that ends in a female spade connector unused for ground.....and the blue wire on the ignition for the positive. When you turn the cart on, you'll get an LED readout of the voltage you have. If you are dropping below 48V when tapping the brake you'll know. If you don't want to wait forever on chinese shipping I think I have a few on hand, or you could get one of the higher end ones from Scotty.

Re: Battery light
Installing that meter won't do nothing for you except take your mind off of the battery light. It will also cover up the problem that is causing the light to come on.

Re: Battery light
It will also tell you exactly what your volts are at all times, Much better than a light in my opinion

Re: Battery light
I don't see how removing a light that "only" alerts you to low voltage being replaced by a voltmeter that lets you know exactly what voltage you have at all times is "covering" anything. The first thing anyone who knows anything about carts will tell you is to get out your multimeter and start with pack voltage tests. If you don't have a clue, perhaps you shouldn't offer advice. That's not being a dick, but piss poor advice is worse than no advice at all. The meter is the first thing I change in every cart I build.
