Default 2002 Club Car DS Loses power

I have a 2002 Club Car DS that intermittently loses power after I back out of a parking space and try to go forward. It will eventually start to work ok but for a minute, it won't move in forward or reverse. It always seems to do it when there are cars waiting for me to move so I have to push it out of the way.
The batteries are good. Could it be the main relay not clicking in since it is an intermittent problem and does it in forward and reverse.. Has anyone else experienced this?

Mcor. Likely bad.

suppose I monitor the solenoid control voltage across the control terminals. Then the next time it happens, if there is 48v across the terminals, the solenoid is bad and if there is no voltage across the terminals, the mcor is bad. Does that sound reasonable?

Use a paper clip or wire to jumper the two wire connector on the mcor. If that makes it work the micro switch inside the mcor is bad.
Let us know if that helps.

Another check is to leave key off and press the GO pedal about 20-40 times. That will sometimes clear oxidation off the switch contacts.

This car does have the dropout harness installed. I just checked. So its back to the MCOR or solenoid. Is the MCOR made up of a microswitch mounted on a pc card inside of a black plastic box? If that's the case, can't I just replace the microswitch rather then spend $160 to replace the whole box?

You can use a paper clip to tell if that switch is your problem.

The drop out harness is what you add to the 2002 carts that have solenoid drop out problems. Yours may need one.

When it stalls like this do you the solenoid engaging? If not then it is Ms in the Mcor. You jumper the 2 wire plug, this will bypass the Micro switch. For testing purposes. The Mcor is not repairable only replaceable. On a side note I would just drive The Atomic Coupe and solve all your problems. Lol

Make sure you take your foot completely off the throttle before you switch directions.
