Default intermitantly no spark

gas Club Car 1994
My friend complains his cart will not start and has no spark , may play up twice a week. May not restart till the following day after manly attempts to
Every time I check it , it never faults
The RPM limited has been removed years ago ( was cutting out mid power range )
The oil level is ok but unsure if this model has an low oil level ignition cut out ?
Was intending to replace the coil and pick up I think they are one unit and check wiring to the coil at same time. Looks like the key switch will not switch off the ability to spark ?
Any advice ?

Pickup on the coil itself is bad. Might be able to hear it apart and just clean everything and get it to work for a little bit. Can become full of rust.

I replaced the coil and for few seconds whilst retesting I had no spark
Worked out the small wire going to the coil is earthed to kill the spark
I followed wire back to the lower micro switch in the box with the throttle cam and solenoid etc. In removing a small drop of water came out the micro switch so I replaced it and appear to have solved my problem Thanks
