Solenoid click when connected to battery negative and releases when battery negative is removed. Pedal switch does not change anything.

Open the floor box and check the pedal micro switch.

Pedal switch has pack voltage going to it. Other side of switch has 0v. When pedal is depressed pack voltage is read on either side of the switch to battery negative. Continuity at the the switch is open. Once it is depressed continuity pass through.

So if the switch is opening and closing as it should with the pedal but the solenoid has constant power to the small solenoid posts something is not wired correctly and there must be a second 36v + supply to the solenoid ?

Can you verify this?
Try disconnecting the pedal box trigger wire and see if you can find where the other 36v+ is coming from.

Without doing any checks I'm pretty certain the solenoid is getting positive from the key switch. I have a white/yellow wire from the switch that is connected to the solenoid. When the solenoid is jumpered to battery negative toggling the key makes the solenoid activate/deactivate. I'll start doing what you said now just thought i'd through that out there first.

PDS controllers (Curtis 1206MX) supply both B+ and B- to the solenoid coil while DCS controllers (Curtis 1206SX) only supply B- and B+ is supplied by the keyswitch, which is feed through the reed switch and the f/r switch.

The pedal switch, which is also fed by the keyswitch, as is Pin-6, so it is logical to accept the fact B+ is being applied to the solenoid coil since the monitor screen in Toolkit shows the pedal switch to be closing. Therefore, jumping B- to the negative side of the solenoid coil will undoubtedly energize it.

The bottom line is Pin-6 has battery pack voltage applied to it and the controller is not responding to that fact. (No indication of keyswitch closure on Monitor Screen)

However, before declaring the controller bad, I'd verify that there was battery pack voltage on Pins 5, 6, 9 and 10. That will power up the XCT-DCS without the laptop attached and the solenoid ought to be energized with those voltages present, with or without laptop attached.

Johnnie,
Pin 5 is not getting power. All others at pack voltage.

Correction, Pin-5 gets power when pedal is pressed.

It is a DCS cart!!!!!!!
The Solenoid get B+ from the keyswitch.
The pedal switch tells the controller to supply B-.

I attached a schematic of a XCT in a DCS to Post#5
