Default 36v Ezgo marathon slow

I have a older ezgo marathon ( metal body ) golf cart I picked up last week for a good deal that wouldn’t run longer than 10min . I tested the batteries and found 1 to be completely dead so I replaced all 6 with new 6v batteries.. it’s runs and holds a charge now but it’s super slow at every 8 mph and flats and doesn’t seem to have the power ( torque) to climb hills speed falls off big time on just slight incline .. I know it’s a older cart but is there anything I can do ? I know it’s not a hot rod 48v but I expected around 12 mph . Thanks

yea

break in the batteries ... see attached

it is an old cart for old golf courses ... they do 8~.10 mph ... you get what you pay for if it is 94 controller cart you can make it faster
i it is a resistor cart not much but to do an over priced upgrade

If it’s a resistor cart that upgrade is worth every penny

Ok thanks guys .. yes it is a older resistor cart might be better off trying to get my money back and purchasing a 94+ style .. looks like 1500$ to upgrade the resistor setup

Info? It’s a 36V Lester charger. Be careful not to overcharge your batteries with that thing. Watch the pack voltage and amperage meter.

Ok, so clip your meter leads to the motor A1 and A2. Record voltage when at top speed. If it's close to the pack voltage in the same driving area, we know the control system, cables, and solenoid are working as best as they can. This will require 2 tests, one for delivered motor voltage, and one for pack voltage.
