Default 1998 club car ds

I bought a 1998 club car 48v today. It have a switch for forward/reverse not the lever style. It don’t have a run/tow switch and it have a vglide. Do I have something someone put together cause I can’t find a wiring diagram for it. Thanks

I believe this is what you have.

This is from the wiring diagrams in the stickies section. This is Regen 1, notice there is no run/ tow switch.

This cart is often referred to as very difficult to work with. But you do have a factory setup. Conversion to IQ with new wiring harness, controller, MCOR, would give you a great cart.

I thought the same thing. I have a vglide and not the mcor and also it has a series motor. There’s also 3 solenoids and no coil. My motor don’t have a speed sensor on it either. I’m just confused. Thanks for the input

Post some photos of this. Are you sure about the motor?

If you have a Regen 1 and a series motor, what you have is a rolling chassis with a body.

If it was mine, I would put a lever FNR on it, a series controller, the proper cables and wiring and call it a day. Otherwise you are going to have to replace everything, including the motor.

That changes things. Mooncarter has the best recommendations for you. You can end up with the cart you want.

Those 2 "solenoids" are reversing contactors. I'm not familiar with that controller but it is not a Regen 1. Looks like somebody may have already switched everything out. Put some batteries in it and see what happens.

Somebody has done some work in there. That’s a beefy controller @ 700amps.

I’d put some good batteries in there (or get the ones in it to take a charge... I had a science experiment post in the general bs section a few months ago that may be a cheaper alternative to making sure everything works before you dump a bunch of $ into it for batteries). I can’t seem to make the search work right on my phone to find it.

Assuming everything in the cart is good, that could be a beast of a cart once it runs. Just might take a little elbow grease to get it there
