NOPE... not the problem. Yes, one battery was lousy, and when I replaced, let the cart charge -- it zoomed all round the yard w/o the dash light coming on. Then coasted (with brakes) to bottom of hill and... same issue. Cart shudders in forward or reverse, even on a flat area. Won't go. Pack is about 52.x. All batteries are about 8.6 > 8.7. One is 9.2. It's almost as of something was happening to the cart because it coasted down the hill..?
Any ideas? Thanks

Batteries can show perfectly fine voltage while resting and still drop out under load..As Fairtax stated clip your meter to each battery individually...Floor the cart and see what each battery drops to...Anything under 7v for an 8v battery under load is bad...How old are they...You replaced one so maybe the others aren't far behind...

They're about three years old. The one I replaced was from an earlier batch. I know what batteries feel like when they're going south and this feels different -- also, I noticed the needle on my charger bouncing around, so I took a shot and reset the OBC. The cart was then able to drive again, but up hill, with more than 50% "throttle", it starts bucking. Less, it climbs the hill. Slowly... will check the batteries at wide open.

OK, ran the "flat-out" test. Five batteries all show 8.x under load. One is all over the place and, basically, takes a voltage dive under load. So... looks like that's the culprit.

Thanks folks

OK, just to put this to bed: yes, it was a marginal battery and it all made worse by a bad charger as well. So, thanks folks, back on the "road"!
