48 Volt 400 amp Contactor Solenoid
Can you get a replacement similar in a auto parts store or does it have to be the same type as in the conversion kit?

I don't think you will find a high current contactor in an auto parts store. Maybe an RV store. I would stay away from the Chinese ones on Amazon.
