I jacked up the cart to examine the pot box. Turns out it has some factory assembly that allows the accelerator to release the parking brake ratchet. The shaft that mounts the accelerator pedal goes through the pot box and has the ratchet on the opposite end.

Pics are worth a 1000 words so see below. Anyone know who makes this pot and where to get one?

I believe this pot is not freely available any more but you can buy the MCOR conversion kit from any Club Car agent for +- $260. There is one test you can try as follows. Disconnect battery positive at battery No.1, discharge the capacitor by placing the fwd/rev. lever in reverse. The reverse buzzer will discharge the capacitor. Now move the lever to fwd. Disconnect the yellow and green wires at the Controller attached to the small slide- on terminals 2 and 3. take a jumper lead from the disconnected green wire to battery no.1 positive terminal. With a multimeter set to 200vDC place the red probe on the disconnected yellow wire and the black probe on the B- Terminal of the Controller. reading should be 0v. Press the accelerator and the voltage should move progressively to battery pack voltage +-50.8v.

I have finally jacked up the cart to try to remove the pot. No so easy. The shaft linking the accelerator pedal and the brake release rachet goes thru the pot box. I don't a bolt allow the shaft to be removed. See pics post 11. Anyone know the trick to remove?

UPDATE: Found the nut on the rachet end. The "pot box" is a joke. All it is is a open hollow plastic cup to hold a simple 1" in diameter low voltage pot. Doesn't even weather proof the pot. And for this they want $350!!!!! I don't think you can repair the pot. I don't know if it is carbon filament or wire wound, but some browsing for electronic components is in order.
