2004 Club Car Charge issues
I have a 2004 Club car 48volt IQ regen. I am having a strange problem with the charger. When the charger is plugged in, I hear the click and the hum of the charger, but the volt meter does not move. I tried another charger with the same luck.
Yesterday I used a trickle charger to get the batteries charged up some suspecting the voltage had dropped below where the charger would kick in. This morning when I plugged the charger in, I heard the click and the hum, but the volt meter would start and then drop to 0 every 2 sec. I tried a reset of the OBC and now the charger just clicks and hums with no volt meter movement. I am getting 48.0 volts on the battery pack. I was under the impression I should be getting around 50 volts on the pack when fully charged. Cart runs good. Could the OBC be going bad? Paul |

Re: 2004 Club Car Charge issues
Go to the STICKIES on Club Cart Electric site and use Test procedures from "COMPLETE MANUAL FOR POWER DRIVE CHARGERS"

I had tried all of the STICKIES. I took it to a shop and it did turn out to be a bad OBC.

That was me shadow.. I was curios what a shop would charge. I would advise others to shop around for OBC prices. The OBC for my 2004 CC ranged in price from $145 to $325 from different vendors. I do not believe the quality or manufacture of the OBC was a factor in this particular case. Just different mark-up amounts by vendors. My purchase was from a reputable dealer and not an Ebay seller. It took me a bit of researching to find a good price but well worth it in the end. Dollars saved allows me to buy more goodies |

Re: 2004 Club Car Charge issues
yes it does, and it pays to shop around but stay away from E-bay...................but figure if you went to a dealer you could add another 150.00 to that 155.00........................
