Installing HD rear springs
Any tips, thoughts or suggestions? Best place to jack from?

I installed mine while installing the lift kit. If you don't have a large jack, you will need some wood blocks for sure. I jacked mine way up and put jack stands on the frame rails just in front of where the leafs connect to the frame. I used a racing jack to support the rear end (it's not light)...just be careful, if you put the stands too far forward, it will teter totter on you.

DO ONLY one side at a time, otherwise if your motor is not supported from above it can twist down. don,t ask how i know.

My son and I did this Friday in about 1.5 hours. Jacked it up(car jack and a 4x4 block of wood), left the tires on and just did one at a time. Not to hard.

No impact wrench or jack stands currently...
Fishb8 - looks like we have almost the same setup - how much of a difference did the PQ bandit upgrade make? |

The PQ made about 20% in speed, I also upgraded to 4 ga cables at the same time.
Now with the all the upgrades to 48volts, she goes ~25mph What are you getting out the stock motor? |

48V, Stock series motor, LGS 480A Controller, HD Solenoid and FNR cam, 4g cables, 4" Drop Axle Lift, 22" Swamp Fox Tires, Front Brush Guard, Rear Flip Seat, the 2 extra 6V batts are in the bagwell to go to 48V, a deep cycle marine battery under the drivers side seat to run my KC's and other accessories. Runs 20MPH on flat level pavement.
Lot's of weight on this buggy - I weigh 250, and with the batts in back, the big 12v deep cycle, the rear flip seat... let's see that's be about 550 lbs of me, batteries and rear seat over and above a stock 36V setup  .Wish I had more speed, but also need the torque as this is a hunting/off road vehicle. |

You may be able to get away without the impact wrench (i just have a cordless impact driver)
The jack stands will come in Handy, I picked up a set of 3 ton stands from Harbor Freight for under 20 bucks, i've used them 3 times in the last month! If ya'll haven't noticed, I'm a Harbor Freight junkie...it's like a toy store for those of us who refuse to grow up. |
