rear wheels lockup
Hi, i have a 1988 ezgo 2 stroke and this past weekend when driving along the back wheels locked up solid and the car skidded to a stop. I can push it in neutreal but if I try to drive it goes about 3' and locks up again in forward or reverse. Any info on what my problem is?
Thanks |

Re: rear wheels lockup
There is no neutral on your cart it is either in forward or reverse so I don't really understand what you are saying, perhaps you could clarify. In the meantime try this.
Remove the drive belt which connects the two clutches. Now push the cart in both directions, does it move OK? Now start the engine in either direction, does it run OK? We can then get it down to back axle, clutches or engine. Dave Last edited by Dave Box; 08-17-2011 at 07:44 PM.. Reason: typo |

Re: rear wheels lockup
Hi Dave, I put the lever between foward and reverse and can push the car in either direction with out a problem, when I put the lever in forward or reverse I can also push the car but as soon as I try to drive the motor starts up and can go about 3' in either direction but the rear wheels lock and wont move.
I'll try what you have said to do and let you know what happens. Thanks ken |
