Ford Th!nk rear end clank / bang
I recently purchased a 2002 Ford Think which seems to be in good condition based on my visual inspection. Since I have no prior experience with this car, I was wondering if the noise I'm hearing is normal.
When I de-press the accelerator after reaching my desired speed I hear a somewhat loud "clank" or "bang" type noise somewhere in the lower rear of the car ( like two pieces of metal "pinging" together ). Of course, I'm concerned it is something in the differential / motor that will progressively get worse over time. But maybe this is normal for this type of car. I did replace the gear oil in the diffy which did improve the overall "grinding" sound. However, it had no effect on the "clank". Any thoughts? Tom |

Re: Ford Th!nk rear end clank / bang
I found someone nearby that also has the Ford Think Neighborhood. It makes the very same "ping" ( metal against metal noise ) I would sure love if someone else on this forum with a Think could confirm. Maybe both our Thinks are bad :-)
Thanks, Tom |
