G1 my first cart wont start Help
I was given a 1984 G1 that was headed to scrap yard I cleaned the fuel tank and fuel line also replaced carb due too throttle shaft wore out. Started cart all seemed good run little rough at slow speed run great at 3/4 to full throttle stopped cart after about 15 min of riding. Can not get to START pull spark plug spark good, plug is dry seems to not be getting fuel pull fuel line and its pumping, did notice little oil around crank seal not sure if that would cause low fuel pressure pour fuel in carb. NO START ANY IDEAS

Re: G1 my first cart wont start Help
Welcome! I would change the crank seals if there is any evidence of them leaking. Two strokes hate air leaks. With new seals it should run like new. The fuel pump runs off of the vaccum in the crankcase so if the seals are leaking then the pump wont be working right.

Re: G1 my first cart wont start Help
Check fuel: take line off carb and crank engine; fuel should squirt out; could be fuel pump, fuel filter, clogged carb, float stuck, etc
Check compression: 100 psi min to 120 psi, but 90psi should start; low comp is rings at min and probably seals too |

Re: G1 my first cart wont start Help
I would pull the carb bowl see if gas is in there, maybe a chunk of dirt got in there. Crank seals bad make for hard starting, usually have to choke it a lot. Remember the compression in the crank pushes the charge up into the cylinder via transfer ports, so if it leaks it messes everything up.

Re: G1 my first cart wont start Help
130# you don't need seals, need for seals is way over rated.
