Re: Help!! Can not get new controller working..
Battery hook up. I now have three per side.
Negative - Horn (?), Negative Charger, B- from controller to negative Battery Positive - Charger +, Solenoid +, Main + (?) Am I on the right track? |

Re: Help!! Can not get new controller working..
My guess was right, your Reed switch has been bypassed.
The other end of the blue wire should be connected to the battery side of the solenoid big terminals. BTW - The F/R assembly consists of three switches. The F/R switch is the cam that moves and the stationary contacts with the four heavy (high current) cables attached. The other two are microswitches. MS-2 - The one with the blue wire attached (on your cart at least). It only allows solenoid to energize when F/R cam is in F or R position. MS-4 - Applies B+ to beeper when F/R cam is in reverse position. May also be wired to pin-3 on stock controller to limit speed to half while in reverse. I believe it is Pin-4 on the Alltrax. |

Re: Help!! Can not get new controller working..
One of the big terminals, it doesn't matter which, should have one cable coming from right-front battery Positive terminal and the Blue wire.
The other should have a short cable going to B+ terminal on Controller. The resistor is connected to both big terminals. You had B+ from battery wired directly to B+ on controller without going through solenoid contacts. No way to shut off motor!!!!!!! |

Re: Help!! Can not get new controller working..
Ok, done.
How does the battery wiring pic I posted look? Three cables to each. |

Re: Help!! Can not get new controller working..
I might be barking up wrong tree, but i cannot see all the cables.
The high current cable(s) on controller side of the solenoid connects to two places. B+ on controller and "A" on F/R switch. So either the B+ terminal on the controller or the Controller side main terminal on the solenoid will have two cables connected to it. If those two cables shown in you last picture go to Controller B+ and "A" on F/R, AND the cable coming from the battery pack is not shown or connected, your solenoid might be wired right and I waved a red flag in error. |

Re: Help!! Can not get new controller working..
just took a look at the pictures of the old and new controllers, B+ on cintroller has two cables, so each of the main terminals on the solenoid should have only one heavy cable. The one on the battery side will also have blue wire and the resistor is attached to both.
The battery wiring looks okay. |
