Re: Step by Step help please!
Were it me, I'd sandblast the frame and find out what needs fixed or replaced. If you don't have the necessary tools to blast, wire brushes and wire wheels for your drill will do the trick. In my mind, I had to have the motor checked for operation. Once I did that, I replaced everything in the power train. I didn't see any use in putting the overly used and abused parts back on a newly refurbished frame.
I replaced the shocks and brake shoes and drums too. The springs were fine, as was the steering assembly. A good coat of grease where needed and enough in the various zerks to see the good stuff coming back out and you should be on your way to the final product. |

That was a joke Chloe. I have a good plan in place and this frame is shot! I can't get good pics of how bad it is but trust me it is toast!

Aw man. Here I thought I was actually being of some help. Oh well, if you're laughing at me you're not bothering someone else.
Is that the same frame you show in another thread with the frame rails turning to dust? |

Yep that's it. And I wasn't laughing at you. I went back and looked at your build and wish mine was as good as yours started. I think your cart is going to look great when done. I really like how your seats turned out. My cart wont be any where near that nice. Just a good cart for sporting clays. Very utility.

Don't take me personally Wiltz. If I didn't have my foot in my mouth at least once a month, I wouldn't have anything to eat.
Thanks for the comments. When I brought it home, the wife asked if I was planning to sell the metal for scrap. I said, "no, I'm going to rebuild the cart". She walked away laughing and saying something about PT Barnum being right. |
