Re: JohnnieB's 2008 PDS sleeper build.
NICE looking cables
Just a couple of questions... Why are the cable ends all shiny gold color? And why I don't see any power mushrooms on the cable ends? |

Re: JohnnieB's 2008 PDS sleeper build.
The cable lugs are a shiny gold color because they are brand spanking new.
Those pictures were shot last summer, right after Installed them. They don't look quite as nice now, since they have Vaseline on them to keep the corrosion at bay. ------------------ The reason you don't see any "power mushrooms" on the cable ends is because I don't have the foggiest idea what they are. Please enlighten me. |

Re: JohnnieB's 2008 PDS sleeper build.
The good news is that USPS, UPS and FedEx have successfully delivered several boxes of goodies without losing or crushing anything.
The almost as good news is that 7 Exide GC-145 Batteries (245AH @ 20Hr Rate and 155 Minutes @ 75A) and a 42V DPI charger are on order. The bad news is it is too cold to work outside and I've got to rearrange some things in the garage to make room to work on cart. The worse news is that my doctor has me on a seven day IV antibiotic treatment and I've got this thingy stuck in my left arm just above the wrist and I can't do diddly-squat with my left hand. I can type and do light stuff, but I can't move my wrist much or get it dirty, so twisting wrenches and lifting batteries are out of the question for the next week. Getting an IV every day from now until Thanksgiving isn't exactly what I had planned, but it is better than loosing a leg. (Diabetic complications) ------------- FWIW: The 36V DPI charger I have cannot be upped to a 42v charger, but the 42V DPI uses the same transformer as the 48V, so all I have to do if I ever decide go to 48V is change the control board. ----------- Breaking News: UPS just deliver a heavy package from DPI, wonder what's in it. ---------- While I'm out of commission, maybe I can fire up the controller on the bench and get it talking to a lap-top. And see if I can take some pictures. |

Re: JohnnieB's 2008 PDS sleeper build.
Here are the various configurations for powering up the Alltrax controllers on the bench.
And here is the printout of the program settings as I sent it to you per our discussions. Have fun but, I suggest you try it with these settings to start. Follow the Doctor's orders & Get well soon. |

I'll rephrase that to all of us! Do what the doc says and you'll be good, besides, you have all those electronic goodies to play with inside!!! |
