On a club car I lifted I unbolted the tubes and rotated them so the spring packs were on top. Bolted the tubes back on and quickly found out the brakes didn't work cause now they need to be pulled backwards. Pulled the tires and axle shafts then swapped the brake (for lack of a better term) slave cylinder from left to right and vise versa and that was it.

How did your motor not end up on bottom and your springs upside-down???

is it better to spread the control box conections out instead on just one battery post

I unbolted the tubes from the center section and just rotated the tubes. The center, engine and clutches never got touched.
