Default 3 wheel ez go

I just purchased a 3 wheel ez go golf cart according to the tag in glove box area 79K01 it should be a 2001 model but I read another thread that says 3 wheels were only made up to 90's and also this cart is a 36 volt will it run on three 12 volt batteries as well as 6 six volt if so whats the pros and cons if any on 3 batteries versus 6 thanks any help would be appreciated

Its' a 1979.You can run 3-12s',but your run-time will be drastically reduced from running the proper batteries. My Dad runs his G2 36volt on 3-12s' but just around his yard,he actually got Rechargeable AGM batteries from a friend, but they still don't last very long on a charge.Hope this helps.
