Just for my own edification, if a K&N filter is installed on the carb., what happens to the hose that went from the airbox to the valve cover go or is the hole in the valve cover just plugged?

It has to vent, you put a filter on it they sell them for gokarts. However if you do that you will have to jet the carb different for the K&N anyway. They might know what size jet you need. I wrapped a bungee cord around mine for a while, then bought new tabs from a dealer. Lot of Asian engines are sensitive this way know someone with a honda quad that has a fit if the airbox lid is not right, and the filter is attached inside anyway not part of lid.

You should be alright with that air box, only reason I took it off is because I put a K&N on mine because I'm trying to beat on another guys cart with what ever I can with bolt ons and little changes verse putting in a whole new motor of either a 500cc air cooled sled motor or a 600cc motorcycle engine that I can shift with.

I basically did what Sho did. I put a speaker grill over a 3 inch hole in the front of the engine where my legs are and another in the bag well. Havent had any more issues.

I think I'll try that for some more ventilation while I'm searching for the cause of the real problem, can't hurt anything. I did check the valves last nite, they were both out of tolerance by a good 1/8", hopefully they'll stay put, I adjusted and re-adjusted for about 45 minutes before I got em right.
Thanks
