loud cart
I have a G2 gas cart that has a diamond plate rear end for the body. It's a good cart, but it is loud. I've tried a few things to quiet the exhaust noise, but no luck yet. I was thinking of trying to extend the exhaust pipe to it is further towards the back. Any suggestions?

Re: loud cart
Put a stock muffler back on it, is one of the quietest carts out there.

Re: loud cart
It has the stock muffler on it. I know what you are saying about G2 being quiet. However this one is not. It may be the engine sound bouncing off the diamond plate metal body? I'm also missing the inner wheel well fender for the passenger side rear. I havent been able to track this part down yet.

Re: loud cart
The plowmans I saw were an aftermarket, they were painted black. Stock muffler is silver and has ribs in it. Muffler is very quiet. If you mean other engine noise the clutch can make noise and clank but the stock muffler is very quiet I never heard one quieter. People around me have other brand carts they are louder than a yamaha if anything.
Find out where the noise is from my G9 and many G9s and G2s I've been around or worked on were pretty quiet with the seat up. If anything the clutch clanked, never heard exhaust noise. You can hear the airbox a little if you take the silencer off it, I took mine off. But seat down it was still quiet. Or you have a leak someplace, or bad muffler, etc. Is much harder to quiet the clone engine I put in it, but with a car muffler it is as quiet or better than a garden tractor so I'm good with that. After other things I may try to quiet it more. |

Re: loud cart
My cart became noticeably louder after I did the Plowman's carb jet swap and airbox mods. The muffler has not changed from stock, so the noise is most likely coming from the intake/airbox. Perhaps that may be the culprit in your case as well.
