Mission accomplished. I found a spiral plunge and cut bit for my cordless dremel. I did a plunge along the back hinge line and cut a slot big enough for the saw blade. I used a 14 tpi metal cutting blade in my Ryobi cordless jigsaw and clamped down a yard stick for a guide. It cut like butta'. Lots of black plastic saw dust. Piece of cake.

I ended up using a piano hinge. All I need to add is a pull ring of some type.

Your's hinges differently than mine. Mine has two hinge points in the frame sides.

I had thought about that but I like the idea of screwing down a black loop of webbing.
