Re: Buy a battery puller
they cost me a new battery when the rivets pulled out and the battery dropped on the holddown tab and punched a nice hole in the bottom of the battery

Re: Buy a battery puller
My father has a strap lifter that grabs the posts on top post battery. Must be 50 years old. No sign of fatigue yet! Unlike the owner.

Re: Buy a battery puller
Find an old leather belt that you have "outgrown" or just worn out and cut it to fit. I would then bolt or rivet the hooks to it. That is my plan to do with mine in the near future.

Re: Buy a battery puller
Made these from a pair of battery hold downs from local auto spares and some scrap alum. pipe. Have lifted more than 300 batteries with them over past 5 yrs with no adverse outcomes. Far easier to use than a strap and great if you have a mate to take one end.Cost a few cents and carries a lifetime warranty.

Re: Buy a battery puller
Any current or reformed hockey players out there, try using two lace tighteners. They are cheap, will not break and work pretty easy. Had a couple in the garage for my kids. Now they are great battery pullers! They are only $2-$3 per tightener online.

Re: Buy a battery puller
Neat. They would probably make good glow sticks if they got dropped across the terminals too.
