TXT clicks but no go
I was trail riding my pre 2001.5 txt a few days ago and when shifted to reverse to turn around it was fine, when I shifted to forward it wouldn't move just clicked, tried shifting back to reverse and forward many times but cart would only click in forward but would move as normal in reverse so I had the pleasure of driving home about a mile up and down hills through curvy woods trails backwards, after I got it home I checked pack voltage 37.2, checked all connections, micro switches (37.2 going in and out), etc have 37.2 v on both sides of solenoid, about 27 v on all terminals of fwd/rev switch, don't know what else to do, as for as I know all components are original, maybe fwd/rev is culprit? I included pic of the label on my controller, Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks

Re: TXT clicks but no go
Could be the F&R micro switch on the F&R. It is the one that clicks closed in both directions ( F&R). Located on the driver's side

Re: TXT clicks but no go
switches test ok, tore f/r switch apart, bad shape, 1 of the copper bolts/ contact had to be sawed off, cleaned up the rest, level of contacts below face of disk, does anyone sell parts for these or are they not worth refurbishing?

Re: TXT clicks but no go
is the second micro switch necessary? if I disconnect it will the cart have full power in reverse? full power reverse would have been nice backing up the hill, I didn't think it was going to make it.

Re: TXT clicks but no go
Get yourself one of these. Lose the stiff lever and a troublesome part of the drive system.

Re: TXT clicks but no go
The Ezgo F&R is not rebuildable. The contacts sink into the plastic housing and reduce contact. I have the only true heavy duty F&R for this cart. Everything else is just less duty. See the EZ575 here > http://www.cartsunlimited.net/f---r--switches.html

Re: TXT clicks but no go
I ordered new contacts to try, going to try resurfacing contact board and put it back together and see, are the contactor kits reliable? seems like they would heat up

I been there done that. Your chances for success are small unless you are skilled enough to shim the contacts in their melted housing to the correct elevation to achieve equal contact on all 4 points. GL |

Re: TXT clicks but no go
The board is the critical part. Sunken contacts, youll have issues as stated.
