Top reason for reverse polarity in batteries..

Just trying to get some insight as to what are the leading causes of this...What all have you guys found to be the culprit?

This can only happen if the battery gets totally discharged and then charged in reverse.

Most batteries will be able to store some charge, but due to differences in internal plate construction, it will not last long.

Here's some trivia/useless information. Current flow from a battery is from negative to positive. Current flow inside a battery is from positive to negative.

I see it happen every now and then...I'm guessing people let their batteries get completely dead then try and charge them individually to get the back up so the charger will come on and then end up putting the leads on backwards is what I'm thinking.
