Default Battery testing help?

I have a 07 txt pds and back in Oct. It started to not hold a charge very long like maybe 1/2 mile. I have an camping/concert event coming up in April that I need to cart for.

I've only owned the cart for about a year and a half and I don't know the age of the batteries. But it ran fine until last Oct.

I'm going to grab one of those hydrowhatchamagiggers after work today to test each cell.

What else should I test?

The cell testing is best done with a refractometer. These accurate devices measure specific gravity in battery cells, unlike the turkey baster anti-freeze testers and they are affordable on Amazon.

Another easy test is voltage drop under load. Since you have lost significant capacity I'll bet the bats are old and ready for replacement... under load like hard acceleration uphill or riding the brake the pack should not drop more than the value of one battery.

That's a nice "general rule", no more drop than the voltage of one of it's batteries, easy for everyone.:
